I am beyond excited with 3 new students. The count is now 7 pre-kinders and 7 kinders. No, my classroom is not full but I am ok with that.
I am tired of prep work and now I am ready to get in the classroom and be with my kiddos.
I need to remember to take my camera to school and take some pics of my room. Of course I should wait until after VBS. My room got altered quite a bit so that Bible Time could take place in my room. I was glad that they partitioned off my desk and library.
The highlight of the day was that my chalkboard and bulletin boards got hung! WooHoo!

Update...
My new books have arrived for shared reading time. I am so excited. My 12 & 14 y.o. kiddos are tired of hearing me read these kinder book out loud to them. LOL!!!
Still no word on if I will be changing classrooms for next school year. If not I will have to get really creative to fit everything into my allotted space.
Inquiring parents are contacting the school daily so hopefully these calls will turn into actual new students.
The count is still 3 prekinders and 6 kinders.

Plans?
The only thing about making plans is that they are sure to change. Through much prayer, research and encouragement from the school, I am switching from a textbook based curriculum to learning stations. Wow, who would have thought this old dog could be taught new tricks? It will be interesting to see how it all comes together.
I've been reading lots of books by Debbie Diller and now she is my new hero.
As of now, I still have my little, cozy classroom for next year. I'm trying to figure out how to fit all of the Pre-k learning centers and the kindergarten learning stations in this room. I might need a shoe horn! Lol!
I'm praying for lots more students so I will NEED a larger room.
More later...

Why is it?
This school year isn't even over and all I can do is think about next year. I have my curriculum planned, I've started my lesson plans, and I can't sleep because I am busy planning my room layout.
Thought maybe if I wrote my thoughts down somewhere it would help clear my brain.
I really am looking forward to summer break. Only 14 schooldays left for this year. Each day is FULL and I'm sure I won't get everything accomplished that I would like.
We just finished out yearly fund raiser. I am so proud of my little ones. Of the ten that participated, we raised $1360.00. Not too bad for our little group. Yes, they ALL walked 5k. I had 3 parent volunteers walk along with them so I could be at the finish line when they arrived. They were soooooo excited to break through the streamer at the end. You should have heard the high school kids cheer for my little ones when they finished. I love my school!
Well, off to enjoy my Saturday!
