Classroom Pics (Kinder and PreKinder)

I had forgotten that I uploaded these pics to my computer.
This is a pic of our library. I spent all summer organizing the books and cataloging them in Classroom Organizer.  How in the world did I get over 1000 books?  When hubby asked me whose books they were, I sheepishly told him, "Yours".  I'm not so sure he was impressed.
This is our morning meeting location.  It is so wonderful having a special place to get started each day.  I am loving my Apple TV!!!

Here is our kitchen area.  The kiddos are doing a great job of keeping it organized, well, sorta.  lol!
Here is our free-time arts and crafts area.  Lots of fun and messes happening here.  Our "Big Blue Paper Eater" helps.
This is where we have table time.  The white boards are nice but I still am a fan of chalkboards, especially since I am a lefty!
Block, games, building supplies, tools, cars, trucks, animals.....  all sorts of free play  goodness,

Welcome 2013-2014!

I know, it has been forever since I blogged.  I have been swamped with life but now that school is back in session hopefully I can find some rhythm to my days.

I wound up with a total of 8 kinders and 5 in my prekinder class.  I am thrilled to have an even number in my kinder class as it makes it so much easier to team the kiddos up for games.

My kinder curriculum for this year is:
Bible: Answers in Genesis for  PK-K
Language Arts: Logic of English, Foundations A-B, The Daily Five, Writing Workshop (which we haven't started yet).
Math: Writing my own while using A-Beka and Horizons as guides
Science: Evan Moor, Learning About Series
Social Studies: Evan Moor, Beginning Geography

My biggest challenge this year is organization of my teaching supplies.  I have already had to reorder 2 of my books because I misplaced them.  Grrrrr!  I did find one of my originals 2 days after Amazon delivered book #2.  This must change!!!

My fav classroom helper this year is

The Pencil Grip Writing CLAW for Pencils and Utensils, Medium Size, 6 Count Blue/Red (TPG-21206)

This has been a great addition to getting the little ones to hold their pencils correctly.  The kids don't exactly like them but once they can show me they are capable of holding their pencil the proper way without them they no longer have to use them.  Thanks Amazon for carrying these!!!

I guess this is all I have to say today.  I'm hoping to get my classroom pics posted soon.

Thanks,
Mrs. S.
